The Business Climate Survey 2026 provides a snapshot of how Swedish companies currently view the Indonesian market.
The survey highlights a clear contrast. On one hand, companies report increasing challenges related to regulatory complexity, customs procedures, policy predictability, and administrative requirements. On the other hand, Indonesia remains one of Southeast Asia’s most important growth markets, and Swedish companies continue to see significant long-term opportunities.
One of the most encouraging findings is that partnerships and local relationships remain the most important success factor for Swedish companies operating in Indonesia.
The survey also demonstrates the strong value of Brand Sweden. Swedish companies continue to benefit from Indonesia’s positive perception of Swedish quality, innovation, sustainability, and responsible business practices.
At SwedCham Indonesia, we remain optimistic about the opportunities for Swedish companies in Indonesia. Like any international market, Indonesia presents challenges related to regulation, logistics, market access, and cultural differences. However, we see a large and rapidly developing economy undergoing significant transformation and modernization.
The report also highlights the value of strong business networks, informed dialogue, and practical market insight. At SwedCham, our mission is to support Swedish and Sweden-affiliated companies in navigating the Indonesian market, building trusted relationships, and engaging effectively with key stakeholders across both the public and private sectors. By connecting businesses, policymakers, industry experts, and the wider Swedish community, we contribute to a stronger environment for trade, investment, and long-term business success between Sweden and Indonesia.
