Preparing for Indonesia’s Mandatory Human Rights Due Diligence Framework – What You Need to Know

Indonesia Set to Introduce Mandatory Human Rights Due Diligence For Large Companies

Indonesia is currently developing a Human Rights Due Diligence (HRDD) framework that is expected to make it mandatory for companies to identify, assess, and manage human rights risks within their operations and business relationships.

While many multinational companies in Indonesia are already familiar with human rights and modern slavery compliance requirements in other jurisdictions, an important consideration is how these principles will be interpreted and implemented within the Indonesian regulatory context; and what this may mean in practice for businesses operating locally, particularly in areas such as labour practices, the use of contractors and service providers, and supply chain oversight.

This seminar will bring together perspectives from government, legal practice, and industry to discuss:
· The direction of Indonesia’s evolving Human Rights Due Diligence framework
· How human rights risks may arise in employment and labour practices
· Practical steps companies can take to strengthen preparedness
· Potential implications for business relationships and supply chain governance

This session is designed to provide practical insights for companies in Indonesia as Human Rights Due Diligence becomes an increasingly important area of regulatory and business focus.
