SwedCham Indonesia members recently joined an APAC-wide webinar hosted by the Swedish Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong in partnership with Securitas, a member of SwedCham Indonesia. The session brought together security and risk professionals from across the region to discuss how companies can strengthen their resilience in an increasingly complex risk environment across Asia-Pacific and highlighted the growing importance of actionable risk intelligence in corporate decision-making.
A key message was that organizations cannot prevent every threat or disruptive event, but they can significantly reduce their exposure by developing intelligence-led security strategies. Effective risk intelligence must be accurate, timely, relevant, and actionable, enabling better decision-making before incidents escalate into crises.
The webinar identified four major risk areas affecting businesses in the Asia-Pacific region:
The discussion also explored how these risks translate into practical business challenges, including market volatility, insider threats, data protection requirements, reputational risks, operational disruptions, and supply-chain vulnerabilities.
To remain resilient, Securitas recommended that companies focus on strengthening supply-chain resilience, conducting scenario planning, integrating physical and cybersecurity measures, and maintaining robust business continuity and crisis response capabilities. Organizations that invest in early-warning systems and situational awareness are better positioned to respond quickly when emerging threats develop into operational risks.
The webinar served as a timely reminder that in an environment of information overload and rapidly evolving threats, competitive advantage increasingly depends not on access to more data, but on the ability to turn information into actionable intelligence.
